Armed Forces Veterans is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. We may collect personal data about donors for a number of reasons-

  • To administer and maintain accounts relating to donations.
  •  To facilitate fundraising
  •  To communicate with donors and prospective donors concerning our programs and services.
  •  To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Such personal information may include: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card number when a donor voluntarily provides it to Armed Forces Veterans. In addition, Armed Forces Veterans keeps a record of each donor's giving history. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by us to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more accurate budget projections.

Where appropriate, and with the knowledge and consent of the donor, Armed Forces Veterans may publicly recognize the receipt and purpose of the individual gift. However, unless desired by the donor, Armed Forces Veterans will not disclose the amount of such gifts, except where required by law. Data on donors and donation amounts may be aggregated and void of identifying information for reporting purposes without the explicit consent of the donors. Armed Forces Veterans may compile an annual report every year and list donors in giving category. Donors may contact Armed Forces Veterans Board of Directors to have their name removed from publications, such as an annual report.


Protocols are in place to safeguard donor information, including:

  • Physical measures, including locked filing cabinets, and restricted access to files.
  • Limiting access on the "Need to Know" basis.
  • Technological measures, such as the use of passwords for database access and encryption for online giving.
  • A record retention policy.

Armed Forces Veterans does not trade or sell donor's personal information, nor does Armed Forces Veterans send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. Individual records are kept only as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected and to comply with applicable laws.

Photo and Video Disclaimer

Armed Forces Veterans, Inc. reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by Armed Forces Veterans, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. Armed Forces Veterans may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by Armed Forces Veterans including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.

To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent or legal guardian

A person attending an Armed Forces Veterans event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer, and/or the event organizers, and/or contact Armed Forces Veterans at info@armedforcesveterans.org in writing of his/her intentions and include a photograph. Armed Forces Veterans will use the photo for identification purposes and will hold it in confidence.

By participating in an Armed Forces Veterans event or by failing to notify Armed Forces Veterans, in writing, your desire to not have your photograph used by Armed Forces Veterans, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify Armed Forces Veterans  from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.

Any person or organization not affiliated with Armed Forces Veterans may not use, copy, alter or modify Armed Forces Veterans photographs, graphics, videography or other, similar reproductions or recordings without the advance written permission of an authorized designee from Armed Forces Veterans.
